Double Off Set

Double offset (high performance) butterfly valves use an offset shaft and disc to swing the seal away from the seat as the valve opens. That reduces wear, lowers operating torque and allows tighter shutoff at higher pressures and temperatures than standard resilient-seated butterfly valves.

Where They're Used

Double offset valves are common in steam, hot water, chemical processing, refining and power plants. They're often a lighter, lower-cost alternative to gate and ball valves in larger sizes. Specify the size, pressure class, media, temperature and type of operator.
