The sophisticated KOBOLD KAL-A Thermal Flow Transmitter employs advanced calorimetric technology with microprocessor-based drift stabilization to deliver reliable monitoring of water-based liquids with velocities from 0.2 to 6.6 ft/sec while providing consistent 4-20 mA output signals regardless of temperature fluctuations. Featuring an innovative single RTD element design that both heats the probe tip and measures temperature simultaneously, this intelligent instrument creates a continuous, protrusion-free sensor surface that prevents contamination buildup, enhances sensing stability, and significantly reduces system downtime associated with probe cleaning. Available in industrial (304 SS or 316-Ti SS with NPT connections) and sanitary models (316L SS with 3-A compliant Tri-Clamp® fittings), the KAL-A withstands extreme operating conditions up to 1450 PSIG pressure and CIP cleaning temperatures to 280°F while maintaining exceptional ±10% full scale linearity and ±1% repeatability. The user-friendly interface includes an 8-LED trend display for visual flow indication alongside adjustable zero (0-75% of range) and span (25-100% of range) settings, with optional PNP/NPN open collector switching outputs rated for 400mA that provide programmable alarm functionality. Operating with minimal pressure drop and complete insensitivity to dirt particles, this maintenance-free instrument delivers consistent performance across pipe sizes from 1/2" to 20" diameter without moving parts, making it ideal for critical applications in food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, water treatment, and other industries requiring sanitary or industrial flow monitoring.Features:
