Overview:
The Nelson HASKS heat trace splice kit is the inline splice variant of the HASK Series connection kits, approved for use in Class I, Division 1 hazardous locations when used with Nelson LT, HLT, and XLT Series field-fabricated heating cables. It is purpose-built for joining two heat trace cables in a straight, in-line splice configuration — whether you're extending a cable run, bridging across removable equipment, or connecting cables of different wattages within the same circuit. The kit includes an approved explosion-proof junction box, seal fittings with reducers, sealing compound and packing fiber, cable entry seals with grommets, power terminations with adhesive sealant, and a 3-point floating terminal block. The HASK Series carries Factory Mutual and Canadian Standards Association approval for C1D1 installations, making it a code-compliant solution for refineries, chemical plants, petrochemical facilities, and other hazardous process environments where flammable gases or vapors may be present under normal operating conditions.
