Nonferrous Cooling Towers

Nonferrous cooling towers reject process and HVAC heat using materials that don't rust: fiberglass (FRP), HDPE and stainless steel. They're built to last in corrosive environments, such as chemical plants, coastal sites and systems with aggressive water treatment.

Advantages of Nonferrous Towers

  • Corrosion resistance – no galvanized steel to rust or flake
  • Long service life – often decades with minimal structural repair
  • Lightweight construction – easier rooftop installation
  • Low maintenance – less painting, coating and part replacement
  • Factory-assembled and field-erected options – for small to large heat loads

Sizing a Tower

Tower selection is based on heat load (tons or BTU/hr), water flow rate, hot and cold water temperatures, and local wet-bulb temperature. Consider footprint, sound limits and access for maintenance. Good water treatment and drift eliminators protect equipment and the surrounding area.
