Carbon

Carbon filters use activated carbon to remove chlorine, odors, organic compounds and taste from water. They're common in process water, food and beverage, and pretreatment for RO systems.

Carbon Filter Options

  • Backwashable carbon tanks – automatic cleaning
  • Granular activated carbon (GAC) – replacement media
  • Catalytic carbon – chloramine removal
  • Carbon cartridges – point-of-use filtration

Sizing a Carbon Filter

Contact time with the carbon (empty bed contact time) determines performance. Size tanks for your flow and target contaminant. Media must be replaced when exhausted.
