Multi-Media
Multi-media filters use layers of anthracite, sand and garnet to trap particles throughout the bed rather than only at the surface. They provide finer filtration and longer run times than single-media sand filters.

Sizing a Multi-Media Filter
Size the filter by flow rate and service velocity, and plan for backwash flow and drain capacity. Media replacement every several years restores performance.
